2004 Brickyard 400 Set For Aug. 8; Renew, Buy Tickets Now

Brickyard 400 fans are encouraged to send their ticket renewals, upgrades and orders for the 2004 race, scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 8, to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as soon as possible.

Customers who are upgrading or purchasing Brickyard 400 tickets for the first time should act quickly to increase their chances of obtaining their desired seats, said Peggy Swalls, Indianapolis Motor Speedway vice president of administration and ticket director.

"It is very important for fans to get their requests in early," Swalls said. "It is also very important that fans, when upgrading or purchasing tickets for the first time, provide us with several seat location options so the Speedway can match them with seats to their liking."

The 10th running of the Brickyard 400 was one of the most competitive since the NASCAR Winston Cup Series first came to the Speedway in 1994, with 17 lead changes among 12 drivers.

2003 Brickyard 400 winner Kevin Harvick will attempt to become the first back-to-back winner of the race next August. Jeff Gordon will attempt to win his record fourth Brickyard 400, and Indiana native Tony Stewart will try to earn his first Brickyard victory.
