A unique “Buckle Up Bash starting Vince Gill” T-shirt, celebrating the Brickyard 400 pre-race concert with the country music superstar Aug. 8 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, is available now.
Fans can purchase the colorful shirt at IMS gift shops located throughout the facility during the Brickyard 400 race weekend Aug. 6-8. It also is available now at the Brickyard Authentics stores, located at Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis and the Indianapolis International Airport, on the Web at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com or by phone at (800) 955-INDY.
The shirt retails for $20 for adult sizes small through extra large, and $22 for extra-extra large.
Gill will play in concert the morning of the 11th annual Brickyard 400 to raise awareness among highway drivers about seatbelt use and prevention of drunk driving.
MCA Nashville artist Gill, a two-time winner of the top honor in country music, the CMA Entertainer of the Year, will perform on the stage in the infield of the 2.5-mile oval from 11 a.m.-noon (local time). Mercury Nashville recording artist Julie Roberts will open the concert starting at 9 a.m.
The “Buckle Up Bash starring Vince Gill” is free for all Race Day ticket holders for the Brickyard 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race, scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m. that afternoon. Tickets are still available online at www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com or by calling the IMS ticket office at (317) 492-6700 or (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area.
The Governor’s Council on Impaired & Dangerous Driving, a division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, is presenting the concert along with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Indianapolis television station WTHR-13 and Indianapolis country music radio station WFMS 95.5 FM are promotional media partners with the council for the event.
Gill, an Oklahoma native, has won 15 Grammy Awards and 18 CMA honors during his illustrious career as a singer and guitar player. His records have sold 22 million copies.
