Fans who want to see Jeff Gordon shoot for an unprecedented fifth Brickyard 400 victory in 2005 are encouraged to place their ticket renewal requests, upgrades and orders to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ticket office as soon as possible.
The 12th Brickyard 400 is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005.
Customers who are upgrading or purchasing Brickyard 400 tickets for the first time should act quickly to increase their chances of obtaining their desired seats, said Peggy Swalls, Indianapolis Motor Speedway vice president of administration and ticket director.
"It is very important for fans to get their requests in early," Swalls said. "It is also very important that fans, when upgrading or purchasing tickets for the first time, provide us with several seat location options so the Speedway can match them with seats to their liking."
To purchase tickets, camping or parking, contact the IMS ticket office at (800) 822-INDY outside the Indianapolis area, (317) 492-6700 locally or log on to www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com.
Gordon scored an unprecedented fourth stock-car victory at IMS in the 2004 Brickyard 400 on Aug. 8 by leading a record 124 laps, earning $518,053. Gordon also won this prestigious NASCAR event in 1994, 1998 and 2001.
While Gordon will go for his fifth victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 2005, Dale Jarrett, the 1996 and 1999 race winner and only other multiple-time champion, will attempt to return to his winning ways at IMS while Columbus, Ind., native Tony Stewart tries again for his first victory at the track he loves.
