NBC Sports' broadcast of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard was the highest-rated sports show on television the weekend of Aug. 5-7, and fans will get a chance to watch even more of Tony Stewart's celebration of his coveted victory during NBC's NASCAR coverage this weekend.
The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Aug. 7 earned a 6.2 national rating, up 2 percent over the 2004 race. It was the second-highest rated Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in the 12-year history of the event, and an event-record number of households tuned into this year's race.
Indiana native and resident Stewart recorded an emotional victory at the historic track, with a lengthy and memorable celebration after the checkered flag. Since the race ran longer than usual due to 10 caution periods, NBC's broadcast ended after Stewart's post-race interview with NBC pit reporter Allen Bestwick.
So NBC will show highlights of Stewart's post-race celebration with crew members, family and friends during its pre-race show before the Sirius Satellite Radio at the Glen at 1 p.m. (EDT) Sunday, Aug. 14.
