The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard Fan Tour will travel through several states this summer to rev up fans of the annual NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race July 29 at IMS.
A new feature presented by IMS and Allstate, the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard Fan Tour is designed to increase excitement and awareness among NASCAR fans across the Midwest. The Fan Tour kicks off Friday, May 25 at the USAC Silver Crown Hoosier Hundred race at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis and continues through September.
"The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard Fan Tour is a great new feature that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is proud to present to our fans," said Joie Chitwood, IMS president and chief operating officer. "This is a great opportunity for race fans to learn more about the Speedway and one of the premier events on the NASCAR schedule."
The Fan Tour will hit the road in a state-of-the-art trailer with high-tech displays and exhibits. Several featured exhibits include:
•A racing simulator that allows participants to sit in genuine racing seats.
•A cutaway of a NASCAR race car which reveals the inner workings of the car to fans.
•The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard trophy.
•Driver memorabilia, including helmets, fire safety suits, die-cast cars and autographed equipment.
•A computer terminal allowing fans to receive free insurance quotes from Allstate.
