Continuing their efforts to recognize individuals who demonstrate a long-standing commitment to preserving the legacy of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Allstate and IMS have named this year's Allstate® 400 Bricklayer Award winners, Indianapolis business executives Andre Lacy and Margot Eccles.
This year marks the first time two winners have been honored.
On Sunday, July 29, before the start of the Allstate® 400 at the Brickyard®, siblings Lacy and Eccles were announced as this year's winners of the Allstate® 400 Bricklayer Award for their commitment to excellence in the wholesale distribution industry. Over the years, Lacy and Eccles also have worked hard to enhance the experience of fans who attend events in and around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway by making integral contributions to the 500 Festival.
Lacy and Eccles hold key executive roles at LDI, Ltd., as chairman of the board and vice president, respectively, and have been responsible for spearheading the wholesale distributor's consistent growth. Each has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service and holds board-level and leadership positions in a number of civic organizations, including the 500 Festival.
"Allstate created this award in 2005 to honor those individuals who, when it comes to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, have demonstrated all the qualities our company stands behind – hard-work, dedication and focus on excellence," said Alice Byrne, Allstate assistant field vice president, North Central Region. "Committed individuals such as Andre Lacy and Margot Eccles help make the Allstate® 400 at the Brickyard® an integral part of the Indianapolis community and one of the premier races in NASCAR."
Winners of the Allstate 400® Bricklayer Award are nominated and chosen by a committee, consisting of one representative from Allstate and three Indianapolis Motor Speedway officials.
"The efforts of Andre Lacy and Margot Eccles have an effect on thousands of fans that come to our great city every year to experience the thrill of auto racing both on and off the track," said Joie Chitwood, president and chief operating officer of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. "Their contributions to the 500 Festival have gone well beyond what is expected of local business executives. Andre and Margot have played key roles in preserving the traditions and pageantry surrounding the Indianapolis Motor Speedway."
The Allstate 400® Bricklayer Award was created three years ago, when Allstate became the race title sponsor, to recognize influential and productive community members who have helped keep the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, one of the most historic tracks in the world, in "Good Hands®" through hard work and dedication.
