Hey, my name is Marco. I'm from Germany and I'm planing a trip for the Allstate 400. It'll be my fifth time traveling to the US. 2005 I went to Road Atlanta for th Petit Le Mans race. That was my first racing event in the states. Now I'm planing my second. I have some questions: - What tickets do you think I should order, I mean where are the best places to watch and how much would they cost? What's the best offer? - Is there a chance to buy them at the Speedway on that weekend or do I have to order them already now? I mean before it's sold out...!? Or are there enough tickets? Can I order them from Germany at all? - Does anybody know some good and inexpensive rooms for the weekend? I would check in on the 25th. - What are the "must see" at Indy and around. Special racing activities..!? - What about the Nationwide race on the O'Reilly Raceway Park. How much are the tickets to get there? And how far away is it from IMS? - The weekend before I'll be at Mid-Ohio for the ALMS race there. I want to travel by car to Indy. Does somebody know a special route? But I'm gonna have nearly a whole week, are there some places to visit on the way? I guess these are enough for now. I'd be happy to get some answers. I'm really lookin' forward to my trip. Best regards from Germany, Marco |

Generally the best seats are considered to be in turn one. You can be under shade, and get to view the frontstretch as well as the short chute between turns one and two. Retail they are about $100 each, but don't expect any to be left. There are many great seats throughout the speedway with big screen televisions to assist with viewing the race. You can order your tickets now online through the speedway, but there will be plenty of street vendors selling them on race day. They have town issued ID cards so you will know they are legitimate. In fact if you walk around the outisde of the track on the day before the race it is kind of hard to miss them. Good inexpensive rooms near the speedway are booked already. Your best bet may be something near the airport. You may want to consider renting an RV and camping on the grounds owned by the speedway. Good luck! Stephen Gallagher |
